Name Change to Saint Mary's Foundation

Over the last decade, Saint Mary's Doran Foundation has experienced extraordinary growth and has strengthened its alignment with the Saint Mary’s Health Care system. Therefore, the Foundation is pleased to announce that it has changed its name to the Saint Mary’s Foundation, which clarifies its identity and positions the Foundation for continued growth and greater success in the future.

In 1964, the Foundation was founded and named in honor of Dr. Frank Doran, a beloved physician who was highly regarded in the community. His benevolent spirit has guided the Foundation through the years, and wants to continue to honor his legacy.

Thus, the biennial lecture series and awards will continue to bear his name. The Frank Doran MD Distinguished Service Awards were established in 2004 and will continue to serve as a prestigious recognition for physicians and community members who have had significant impacts on the Foundation and on Saint Mary’s Health Care. Our next lecture and announcement of the Frank Doran MD Distinguished Service Awards will be in 2012.

The Distinguished Friends Society, our major donor recognition society, will be renamed the Frank Doran MD Distinguished Friends Society, which will recognize individual donors who have made lifetime contributions of $25,000 or more to Saint Mary’s. Additionally, our new Corporate Partner Program will follow the same approach by recognizing organizations and businesses that contribute to Saint Mary’s. An annual reception honoring these generous groups of supporters will be held each year. Watch for announcements of other special events for these groups, as well.
